CD friendly policy? I went (drably) into their shop in Leyland. Went full lenth, to look at lingerie, wanting something with suspenders. (I am prescribed elastic stockings, for a varicose vein. They had stick on bras at £1 each, and I selected one. On the way to the cash desk I decided to try on ankle boots (£10 per pair!) One of the three young had noticed me and was on her way to assist me, and no doubt noticed my flesh coloured Lycra/nlylon clad feet. She asked, without embarrasement, if I needed help. I said not really, that the boots fitted, and went with her to the till. All three girls were serving, and I had to wait, and noticed some attractive, inexpensive, short evening dresses. I then offered my money, and her colleague pointed out that I could have half price on arange of merchandise close to the counter. I was, by time, obvios that I was shopping for myself, and I selected a pretty umberella (£3). This girl pointed out, pleasantly, that if I spent more, I could benefit further, and I went with my previous helper to find a 16. I was unlucky. And left the shop with my booty. Walked on further, and it struck me the dresses (choice of black or royal blue) might be OK in 18, since I could pad my bust, and put darts in the waist. So I went back in the shop, by now emboldened to ask to try one on.
I was again out of luck, but they all took it so much in their stride, that my only reservation is that they might have been so efficient to save not only me, but other customers from embarrassement. Other customers just seemed to ignore me, so much so that when the cheap nail lacquer was indicated, I quipped I had enough of the stuff thpaint all the furniture! I was really beginning to relax!
