A must-have for your beauty arsenal

Truly a beauty wonder, sweet almond oil absorbs easily making it a great moisturizer for skin. It can help improve the texture and shine of dry hair, softens cuticles, and is also a great stand-in for your eye makeup remover or bath oil in a pinch. It's inexpensive and can be found in any health food store.

How to Cure Brittle Nails

Step1
Apply moisture to your nails.

When nails lack moisture, they tend to become dry and brittle. To add moisture to your nails, add a thin layer of petroleum jelly on a daily basis.

Step2
Keep your nails trimmed.

Shorter nails have more of a tendency to break and split. Keep them well trimmed and manicured to reduce brittleness.

Step3
Soak your nails every few days to add moisture.

Soak your nails in a bowl of almond oil or olive oil every few days to keep them soft and supple.

Step4
Use Biotin as a supplement. Consult doctor first..

Using biotin as a supplement, according to studies, helps to cure brittle nails. The suggested dosage is 2.5 milligrams per day. It can take up to three months to see symptomatic improvement.

Step5
Practice good nutrition.

Studies have shown that adequate vitamin C, pyridoxine, and iron levels help to prevent the appearance of dry, brittle nails.
Step6
Wear gloves.

Harsh chemicals can make the symptoms of brittle nails worse. Use gloves anytime you're working with chemicals and when you wash the dishes. Constant contact with soap and moisture can dry out nails further.
