Australian researchers have discovered nature really is stronger than nurture and it's biology, not a lifestyle choice, that determines whether men become transsexuals.

Slightly less sensational, rather more factual version of the above - from the Australian HeraldSun - the research was carried out in Australia;

Interesting huh - though it does say 'more likely to have the gene' - I'm sure there's many other biological factors that could come in to play.
Actually - most psychological issues are a mixture of nature and nurture
I've always thought transsexualism was largely biological - although sometimes environmental factors come into play because genes only come into play with the right environmental triggers - like stuff going on in the womb for example.
I wondered what kind of 'nature' stuff others on here think might have affected their development re all this gender malarcky.
For me there is stuff like the fact that my mother smoked (a little) when she was pregnant, and after that I did live in a fairly matriarchal familly for quite a lot of my early childhood - although far from being isolated from male influences. Wheh I was young my dad worked away a lot and my mam and grandma brought me up for the first few years. But really none of this - it seems to me - would have had that much effect....
What do the rest of you think?
