I am about to stock up, and was going to use Boots No 7, with concealer (for the nasty bits round my mouth. Would panstick be better? The rest of myskin is fairly good, and I do not want a heavily made up effect. Any advice or comment, please.

Hiya Sylvia
When I first started dressing I bought some Derma Colour Camouflage Cream for just my top lip area then used a normal liquid foundation. This was ok in the beginning but as I began to get better in putting on my makeup, it became obvious that I was wearing too thick a makeup. Earlier this year I visited a dressing service called Adam & Eve, and Josie the owner told me that because I was fair skinned and had a light beard shadow, I could get away with applying normal women’s cosmetics and that I didn’t need the TV related stuff. The very next week I went to Boots in Blackpool, in male mode, and asked to lady on the Maxfactor counter that I was a dresser and would like to have a foundation matched to my skin tone. She was really good and advised me on a concealer for just my top lip area, this is the type that women use if they have a spot or something like that. She also recommended a clear powder to set the foundation after it had been applied. My lipstick and eye shadow are all from boot’s No. 7 range only because they have a better colour selection. Again I asked the lady on the No. 7 counter for her advice and she was also very good. If you hit boots at the right time they are always doing 3 for 2 offers!
As for makeup removal I always use Kryolan. It’s a classic make up remover for grease or cream based foundations. It’s a little pricy for a 50g container at about £7.00, I buy this from Doreen’s Fashions, but I would imagine you could buy it locally? I bought it in January and since March this year have been using it at least twice a week and I have maybe a quarter of it left! I use a damp cotton wool pad, and this is enough to clean both eyes, lips and any area where I have used the concealer, then I just use soap and water on the rest.
I get most of my tips from an internet site called Videojug, this is where they will show a video clip on how to apply different aspects of makeup, http://www.videojug.com/tag/beauty-and-style
. Chrissy’s makeup tips are also very good, she post them on the forum. She’s also the Avon Rep.
Have fun and good look:D
