Ive an interesting one for the computer geeks out there, I'm trying to run a set up CD for my net provider, this disc worked on this Laptop but has problems on the PC, when I run it the CPU usage goes to 100% then freezes up is there a way to get this to load or do I bin the PC& buy another? no cleaver answers please this is serious

A little vague on the information front?

A few of questions---

How old is your PC
What sort of spec is it e.g. processor/memory etc
What version of windows
Is your Antivirus software running while trying to install
Do you have another network provider software already installed

Sorry so many questions but these little problems can be an absolute arse to find/fix at the best of times

It sounds to me like your PC is a bit on the old side compared to the laptop.

What it's trying to do is use resources that aren't available to it such as memory and processor speed etc, it'll run at 100% for a while until it's done what it needs to do but too be honest it sounds like it's not really up to the job.

Safest bet is to just continue with the laptop until you can afford to upgrade the PC or change it for another one.

Thats what I was thinking, could be the previous providers install could be giving probs, theres a comp fair on Sunday ill give it a look, m looking at probably £350 for the tower plus OS, by the way term geek wasn't meant to be derisory just to differentiate between those who know & those who Dabble such as me, Thinks for the reply' s
