If you ever wondered what made us the girls we are maybe a clue was in a documentary this week, (not new info actually but still interesting) male babies who are exposed to low levels of testosterone in the womb end up with feminized hands, a trait seen in many gay and effeminate males a woman's ring finger is usually shorter or equal length than her index finger also gay or effeminate males have a worse spatial sense more akin to that of a woman.

Hmmm my ring finger isn't longer than my index and my lack of sense of direction is legendary, no wonder I identify more with Keira Knightley than Johnny Depp

That was close! I nearly went and threw away my whole wardrobe thinking that I am really just a bloke who likes wearing dresses :(, but on re-reading the instructions and re-measuring my dainty little fingers i find out that I HAVE to wear dresses. YIPEEE! :):) (measure on the palm side, it's easier)

I suppose we could always cheat and tweek the length by cutting/growing our nails ;)

Just checked - I have small female hands, as in Blackadder - you have the hands of a woman - but fingers - just ring finger = index finger. So that is okay, back to cross dressing - ah thought my right hand was wrong, but it was way I was holding it - hate to be right male, left female - confused hands. But both okay

relieved:cool: Ellena

Ah you see its not the size of the hands its the comparison of the ring finger to the index finger equal or shorter is evidence of low testosterone in the womb and has been attributed as one reason why some males are effeminate or gay look at the palm of your hand and compare the ring finger to the index finger

Yes! My Ring finger is equal in length to my index finger on both hands!

Somehow, I feel the science behind all of this is a bit suspect so I keep an open mind!;)

Maybe ALL male index fingers are girly length, who is going to call in at the Public Bar at the Local and start checking!!!!!!!!!!

Lynsey

Well the shorter ring finger is only one indicator but its interesting because its one of the few physically measurable indications, John Barrowman the famously gay actor for example torchwood does not have the shorter ring finger there is also just for fun a test your brain gender on the bbc website. No prizes for guessing Lynsey's outcome:D

The 'test', was broadcast by the BBC.

The following has been copied from their website

Some researchers say that men can have 'women's brains' and that women can think more like men.

Find out more about 'brain sex' differences by taking the Sex ID test, a series of visual challenges and questions used by psychologists in the BBC One television series

Apparently I'm neither one thing nor the other!!

I passed the female finger test with flying colours, not so good with the angles, had high empathy and could easily spot people's emotions but I was also good at the spatial test and apparently the right side of my brain is dominant!!

I am an engineer however - so having some spatial awareness is quite useful.

Begs the question should I have wasted the effort transitioning since I'm 50/50 :)

Or maybe I'm just good at everything? ..... ahem :)

Or maybe the test is a bit of a generalisation :)

Actually proper scientific studies have found the 'actual' differences between the sexes to be very small - and hardly conclusive - so I'll take solace in that.

Thanks Chrissy thats lovely thanks:)

Unfortunatley i have now made up my mind 100%:) i will miss you all i must say,and thats the hard part about it! but i know it will be a mistake for me to continue, ive give it a go been out and about dressed etc but from doing this i have learnt it is not for me, and if im honest i prefere my male side.So im going to stick with that for now, and have a break from Femail things for the sake of my own sanity, Family, and my bank account.

If i was happy i would continue but im not im afraid to say, sorry but i must be honest with myself, its making me ill all the Guilt and secrecy from family and freinds etc and it would be a mistake to come out to them knowing in my heart im not TS,if i could put my hand on my heart and say im TS and i was born in the wrong body then it would be a diffrent matter, but i do not feel that way enough to be sure.

If i dont see any of you again then i would like to say its been a pleasure to know you all,and your all wonderfull brave people.

I dont know what to say Girl. as this is how I see you and will always remember you as such. I do understand your desition but life is not about
what others think of you or how you dress.

You have lots of freinds at renaissance in Please take note in my old age 56 yrs I have found good freinds more valuable than anything else life has to offer

The label TS TV or what ever means nothing realy

What is more important its when you come to Blackpool do you have fun?

We all know you as Jackie but if you wish to crossdress as a man and call youself Jack you will still be welcome

Clothes just hang lifeless on the shops rail just bits of cloth stuck together

It's you the person inside those rags we see

Oh call me a selfish bitch but I for one will miss you

If you want to Talk you can P.M me

Love and best wishes Sally

Jackie, I hope I make sense in the following, just my thoughts

I don't know you, or think I have met you, but i felt quite sad for you when I read that you feel that you had to give up the femme side of yourself. You say that you have tried various stages of being dressed, meeting other girls, going out and about in the big wide world dressed, but didn't enjoy it. You also say that you felt that the guilt of keeping it a secret from family was wearing you down and making you feel poorly.

Maybe part of the worry and guilt is that you think that there is only one way or the other to go, i.e. full transition or nothing. This need not be the case, thousands of people accept that they have two lives (and only one family) and are purley TV's and get fun out of it.

Maybe you didn't get anything positive out of it because of the feeling of guilt, if that is so then maybe you have done the right thing at the moment, BUT IF the feelings return at some future date then you will realise then that it is deeper in you than you thought, until that time (if it comes) get on with life and family and friends and I wish you well :) Love, Rache :(

Jackie, I've never met you but sincerely wish only the best for you.
I so hope your decision hasn't been influenced by any form of online testing.
Only you know in your heart of hearts where you are coming from.
Please stay safe.

Jackie, Although I am in the rather fortunate position of not having any close family,or friends who dont KNOW I would take the advice of the other girls, and dont throw away all your lovely femme clothes. It was Freud who said the human mind is both situational and flexible, and I have found it is SO true.I hope you do too. Whatever happens, take care and the important thing in life.....enjoy. Girls im overwhealmed with your wonderfull replys and PMs im real sorry to put you through this:o but this is not an overnight thing i have felt like this for some time now but i had to be certian!

I did not mean to upset you all so im sorry for been a drama Queen:o but i still feel the same! however on a more positive note Jackie is a big part of my life that i engoy! and NEED! so i wont be giving up or throwing anything away,i have just come to terms with the fact that im a TGirl rather than a TS and im happy as both Genders.

And i think i gave all the wrong impression in that i always engoy my nights at the Ren,Its just on the odd night out in the Village Blackpool etc my guilt has clouded my Judgment and the wondering weather im TS or not? im not one thing or the other, and i will just accept that Dressing it is something i need to do to be happy(but not all the time!) so i have the luxury of not having to do makeup etc every day etc LOL so if im 100% honest i accept im a TGirl and happy in both Male and Femail form so in that respect im lucky as i have the best of both worlds depending how you look at it.

I feel o lot better now i have come to terms with it,and i will still be a regular at the Ren meetings, all your freindship is special to me so im doing my upmost not to lose that! that is a gap i could not fill! if i never visited again.
The only change will be i will be back to wearing Wigs, but thats a good thing as i can change my look often and ive always wanted to have a go at been Blond LOL

In a nutshell i would like to thank you all for been so open and caring,it means a lot to me thats hard to put in words! so i would like to give you all a big cyber hug x x x

I may not be able to make it tonight, but if not i will see you all at the next meet and many others

Jackie x

Hello

My spatial awareness confused like me, remember items missing, a whopping 86% very female. I'm very empathetical 15 out of 20, although I can't read persons emotions at all scoring only 5 so again mixed messages. Right handed dominate, Fingers same length. I prefer feminine faces, always knew I was a lesbian.

11 out of 12 for the 3d rotation test must be an engineer Verbal fluency 14 words, very female.

Over all 35% into the female section.

But then it's only a silly test and what do they know.
