Unfortunately Amber has been moved from Kirkham down to Warrington.
I have a letter from her here and, will add it later as it is not short.
If anybody can help by sending her a short letter i know it will make all the difference to Amber.
Her address is...Amber McDonald [H16312]
D3-18 HMP Risley
617, Warrington Road
Risley
Cheshire MA3 66P

Hello Lynda and Petra
I hope this letter finds you as well as possible, meI am feeling prretty fed-up and kind of lost at this moment, as you can see from my address I am no longer in Kirkham. I got moved here on Monday afternoon, the excuse that they used was a positive drugs test, but thaat was just the reason they needed, as hey were not happy, having me here, I was even told by one of the goveners that this is a mans prison and also referred to me as a he/she.
My solicitor is now i the process of making a case to put before the European Courts, as I am no longer prepared to just sit back and accept the crap that they dish out to people like "us" who are different.
What I am really gutted about is the loss of what you and Petra offer, as I said in the letter I wrote after I attended your social evening, for the first time in my life I felt normal and accepted for who I was and for that opportunity I shall allways be grateful.
At this moment, I have had all my clothes etc taken from me, so once again I shall have to fight to get them back. My sister is going to contact my solicitor and MP for me. I feel lost, they have said it is for my own safety which is just an excuse. Its quite ironic really I am on a wing with 120 other inmates, so should be like a kid in a sweetshop. Yet because of all the macho bullshit, no one is brave enough to speak to me in case they are labelled all the usual, Queer, Faggot, Barry-boy etc ...
From my heart I truly thank you and Petra for the way you not only allowed me to attend your meeting, but the way in which not just the pair of you, but everyone in attendance made me feel welcome and most importantly, normal.. Thank you....

You can read the letter in full at the next meeting....................

Just a cautionary word about writing to Amber;

remember that all mail into and out of Prisons is vetted/censored, so if you write, do not put anything into a letter that could be misinterpreted, by anyone for any reason, particularly as she has a beef with the prison authorities at the moment, as to why she has been moved, and they are not allowing her to be herself.

Risley is a Male only Jail and not very nice, particularly if you are "different"

Hi Lydna,
I read your message regarding Amber. My heart goes out to her in Risley prison.
It is not only sad to hear that they have taken away her clothes but have been discrimatory in their actions towards her and her expression of who she is.
I wonder if anyone else has has further comments on this unfair, sexual discrimationory practice. I am sure her MP will address the case and win equal rights for Amber.
my thoughts are with her at this difficult time.

Thats is terrible, I'm sure there is a case for her solicitor / MP. I seem to recall seeing a doco on television about prisons in the US, transgender inmates were allowed clothes and makeup.

Although not particularly relevant, may I ask why she is 'in'.

Amber did not actually divulge why she was "in" but like a lot of the girls spent years doing the macho thing to cover up how she really felt.....

I remember talking to her at that meeting we chatted away for a good half hour I did not know then she was in prisson
Please dont take this the wrong way i hate putting people down

But what I did sence was a harshness about her I cant discribe
Somthing like this person has had a very hard life style and a huge chip on her sholder about somthing

Please remember you are not sent down for all this time for a parking ticket

Hope This helps

I have no objection to writing to her no one should
