Transcript between Denny Fitch and Capt Al Haynes of United flight 232 which Crashed at Sioux City in 1989. These guys flying skills manged to save quite a few lives from what was considered to be an unsurvivable crash

Fitch: I'll tell you what, we'll have a beer when this is all done.
Haynes: Well I don't drink, but I'll sure as hell have one.

and later:

Sioux City Approach: United Two Thirty-Two Heavy, the wind's currently three six zero at one one; three sixty at eleven. You're cleared to land on any runway.

Haynes: [laughter] Roger. [laughter] You want to be particular and make it a runway, huh?

A more serious remark often quoted from Haynes was made when ATC asked the crew to make a left turn to keep them clear of the city:

Haynes: Whatever you do, keep us away from the city.

When interviewed later Haynes said "We were too busy [to be scared]. You must maintain your composure in the airplane or you will die. You learn that from your first day flying."

Everyone dies but not everyone lives. Live your life in a way that makes you happy and proud. I hate to say it and be the bad fairy again, but there seem to be quite a few quotes in here that have nothing to do with Transgenderism. Please girls concentrate on what you are reading and saying. There is another thread for NON TG QUOTES. so please check.

I or Lynda could rearrange them but then we would probably be accused of over-moderation again.

Hello,

Just a few quotes that are on topic,

"Nature chooses who will be transgender; individuals don't choose this."
Mercedes Ruehl

"I learned a lot more about transgender people. It's not a choice, but a physiological condition that has to do with the size of the hypothalamus part of the brain."
Mercedes Ruehl

Not sure I fully believe the second one, I think it's far more than that.

"Everyone has people in their lives that are gay, lesbian or transgender or bisexual. They may not want to admit it, but I guarantee they know somebody."
Billie Jean King

"In biology, nature abhors a category"
Joan Roughgarden

"The Eternal female lead's us on"
Goethe

"Women don't suffer from penis envy, Men do"
Joseph Heller

"This Transition is precisely the transition of the rebirth from not exisiting to existing."
Johannes Climacus

"Transgenders are some of the bravest people I have ever met. They have dealt with their own demons and are faced with everyone else's demons, but still persist to be the best person they know how to be! "

"All people are born with two things, a soul and a body. Transgender's souls don't match their bodies but find the courage to make it work in the best ways they know how."

"I always do my best to respect the person a transgender believes themselves to be, because that is what I would want from them in return. I always use proper pronouns to validate the person their souls are."

Not sure of the last three sources

Bi gender or intersexual in physiology of the mind - not body anatomy, which is how I see myself

I thought IS also referred to individuals with malformed or indiscernible genitals?

IS does, on assumption that gender is only defined by sexual organs. It is recognised that transition from female to male just after conception is full of problems which can go wrong which can lead to IS (of what as you say is thought ot be IS). I argued in Paris, that since in fact evidence suggests gender is defined not in body physic, but in brain physiology (hences TS indivuduals) then for those who feel feel both male and female within their brain, could be regard as IS as well. People like Eddie Izzard and myself can not be happy as one gender or other. Mood swings result in need to express one gender or the other. Eddie Izzard was referring to this in fuller text of the article which I took his quote. He has to be female at times, he has to be male at times, and sometimes a mix.

Since Sciences is long way from excepting TS argument that gender is in brain (mind) and not the body, they are even further away from addressing those individuals who are intersexual in the brain ( and not the body). In fact some IS from body anatomy, see themselves (in mind) as one distinct gender or the other - irrespective of body physiology. For example there was two IS one born with testes, the other ovaries. They grew up one male and one female, but male was one with ovaries, the female was one with testes. They did not feel as I or Eddie Izzard, as bi gender.

Does that make sense Kaity? - do query anything I say which does not - all the best Ellena:)

That's an immensely interesting point Ellena. I returned home after New Year with a chest infection, I've had them a number of times before and they always lay me low for many days. My first reaction was to revert to male mode and I have remained so for the last 5 days, which is a long time for me. I've been beating myself up over this, because I thought it was a step backwards. A good friend has helped me realise that this isn't an issue, but I found that point in your piece very illuminating and helped clear my fog a little.

Remind me to buy you a glass of wine when I see you again dear :)
