Hiya Steph

Before I had my ears pierced I used a convertor, which is basically a clip on which enables pierced earrings to be worn. Link below http://www.translife.co.uk/earring-convertors-472-0.html

I used to get my clip on from markets stalls, for some reason these sorts of places sold them? Not a great choice, hence getting my ears pierced.

A quick look on eBay showed near 4000 items?

But I would seriously think about getting your ears pierced, painless. After the initial shock from people who know you, then it’s plain sailing. Oh and then you’ll have thousands of choices!!

Its got to be 14 years since I had my ears done

Prior to this I did it myself with a sewing needle and a cork

Now that did hurt

But then I have always been diferant and somewhat loopy

I can see why that might have put you off - it made me cringe...

But the shop will be very nice and gentle and won't hurt you at all... honestly :)

The shop you are thinking of is called Mooche, although you have to be quite a way from the shop to see the sign. There is also a Claires in Freeport, but Mooche sounds much cheaper.

Try this website for clip-on earings and the converters for standard earings. it was one of the first sites I viewed when I first came to the reality about myself.

Hello Jamie,

Always go to a specialist body piercing place, never go to anywhere that uses a stud gun to pierce them, as they are essentially blunt and relly on force to tear through the earlobe. There is a specialist place in Blackburn that is on either St. Peter St. or Mill Lane off Darwen street. I got mine done there and they were really quick and checked them after a couple of weeks to see if everything was ok with them. They even gave me a lollypop after I got them done. Took literally 5 minutes to do a proper professional job.

Come on Girls this is no big deal. I've now had mine done three times. the last two at Claires in the Trafford Centre. They are professionals and the stud gun has been used for years to do this. They do not tear through as Petra Susan suggests because the studs have really sharp points. They also give you a leaflet with care instructions and a bottle of cleaning fluid to use until they are healed. which generally takes about 5 to 6 weeks to heal completely.

Claires will also give you a lollipop afterwards although strictly speaking they are for children.

Had mine done at Claires.......but I didnt get a lolly :(

They have lots of forms to go through, might be worth thinking about Liability insurance if you are going to set up an ear piercing service?

thanks Sarah, it is tricky to see the sign there

but as i mentioned if its in your area it's one i'd recomend, again there was a form to fill in sadly no lollipop for me either but was given care instructions and 2 bottles of cleaning fluid

4 weeks today since i had them done and they have never given me a problem, i have some little white gold studs in at the moment

and transgender friendly, i went dressed and they were fine with me, and certainly cheaper than Claires

IM so glad to find this thread :P

Although BI by nature, I never really got into transvestitism, until I turned 50!

Now Im Much more than that, Im obviously going to be very nervous going into some places at my age, and wanting my ears pierced, I mean theres no way, im sitting in full view of teenage customers in Claires in Blackpool:eek:

The problem with clip ons, is there normally very expensive, I get mine from the lovely lady in Abingdon Street Market, the top Stall near to Cedar Square, but I only like the hanging types, which I bought two of the other day, £7.99 each!

My problem with Piercing, is, firstly my age, and I have d/l lots of utube vids , and seen the gun and the sterile needle teqhnique, but I have Slight allergys, to some things I wear, such as red itch marks under Watch straps or under the watch itself. Even clip on earings, the Piece that clips to the rear of my ear lobe, gets really painfull after a time, and a few days after, I get a acne type spot, which weeps and takes ages to heal.

I know theres a non metal stud you can have put in a pierced ear, but Im wondering, if, even when healed, will normal wire type nickel earings going to cause me problems, then its not worth doing. So im in a dilemma, and dont know what I should do, as I love all the pretty earings about :(

Any helpfull hints, apart from cutting my ears off be appreciated lol

love Michaela xxxx

Oh! and can someone tell me what a Ren night is? Is it a venue like connections in Blackpool, or private guest house .. ??
