I have an annoying problem at the moment in that my hair is getting long again but i still want to wear one of my wigs until i am fully happy with my own hair lenght/style.
the problem is that i have never wore this particular wig with long hair before, the last time i wore it was a year ogo with short hair.
So what happens is after a short while it slips on my hair and the wig will not stay on! and my fringe is longer than that of the Wig! LOL but i can pin back my fringe.
But how do i keep the wig on? is there some way you can use some clips?on my hair that also attach to the wig?
Thanks in advance.

Try using a wig cap and hair pins throught the wig into your own hair. That should work

Hi Jackie,
another alternative is to sew some hair clips into the wig itself - and thus clip the wig to your real hair :)

Hello Jackie
I used to use sleepies and clips to hold it on.Trouble is that using a wig cap you tend to get a bit of a bulge. I tended to wear a wig very similar to my own hair colour so that they blended together better.

Thanks Girls,i am not as pratical as some of you and have little experiance of using wigs so thanks for the info. i may not have thought of some of that myself.
I know waht you mean about the bulge using the Wig cap LOL i need to get a cap that is tighter on my head as the one i have pops off with the Wig.
I will try the hair pins and clips ideas thank you

Would using double-sided tape just below the natural hairline of your forehead be of any help?

Hello Joanne,
As you tend to sweat quite a bit under a wig then the perspiration would loosen the tape, unless it's specialist wig tape.
Trouble is it can ruin the underside of your wig, and can leave you with a red strip along your forehead when you remove it. from you skin.
So I would stay away from any form of tape.

Hi Janine
thanks for that tip, saved me from a ruined wig and a stripey forehead!
Excuse me a second whilst I adjust my 'L' plates :)

I have to say that I used wig tape some years ago and it never damaged my wig nor left a red mark on my forehead. I would guess that if you get a red mark you might be allergic to the adhesive used.
Some of the adhesives used on things like medical patches, & dressings etc can do this. My Hormone patches initially brought up a rash due to the adhesives, so had to be changed, and I know that there are people who are allergic to Elastoplast. So wig tape might do the same on some people.
