There is a Brantano shop in Leyland and Preston.
Lots of large size shoes and the prices are good.

I've bought quite a few pairs from Brantano and I'm suitably impressed too!
Size 10s can be a bit limited in some stores but the styles are good. It makes a change from some companies who think that all we want are 6 inch heel courts in either Patent Black, Red or White

Yes, I`ve bought from them in the past, but find in general that their shoe range width is a little too narrow for me.
So, for those looking for a wider fitting the following might be of interest to know, as follows:
Marks & Spender Now do wide fitting ladies shoes upto size 8 for ladies and while I usually take a nine the eights are OK for me such that a pair are going on holiday with me since we plan for lots of walking.
Long Tall Sally Either shop in person in their Manchester Shop (other stores throughout the country) sell a range of larger ladies size, shoes, boots, pumps etc., Very obliging and while I had to collect a coat the other month dressed in Drab, since I had a business meeting in Manchester later, the young assistant recognised me without the usual blonde hair! They are very obliging - new designer/supplier has been engaged so watch for new styles soon. Not the cheapest but mainly leather uppers with composition soles. http://www.longtallsally.com/
Ultimate Shoes Norwich This website http://www.ultimate-shoes.com/index.htm does mail-order only but is owned and operated by a Trans-lady. They sell other related TV lady items as well as shoes that have been made on a MALE LAST, which means that for those with a wider foot they are so much more comfortable.
Various styles, colours and finish - PRICES ARE VERY COMPETATIVE for leather shoes. There are the usual high heels in boot and shoe as well as some nice low and small height heels. Sizes also include half sizes in some ranges. Price range of mid £30 for leather shoes is very competative but unlikely to be repeated due to `problems` with the agent engaged to complete the order in the Far East, so order sooner rather than leaving it until it`s too late.
Go on girls avoid the pinch!

Faith shoes also go up to size 9 and they do wide fitting shoes/boots as well. They have also got a mid season sale on at the moment. I tried a pair of boot whilst at the Bircage, they were size 9 and were a little on the big size for me even around the calf. In drab I am a size 8 so I would imagine that a size 8 boot would fit? I shall be paying a visit to the Preston shop this week to have a look.

I've bought shoes from Medissa shoes, They do up to size 12 in wide fittings and the pair of court shoes i have are Ros Hommerson from USA. they are THE most comfortable shoes I've ever worn (male or female), prices are'nt exactly cheap but I won't buy shoes from anyone else. They are TG friendly.

Not quite as astounding as it first appears - US11 = UK9 - still quite big (actually its my size) but increasingly available even in mainstream shops like Next and New Look for example :)

Who was it that needs to go to specsavers Reggie? See my post above yours :)
Evans shoes go up to size 10 and also are wider calf fittings as Evan caters for the larger real girl and I'd say the special big girl too;)
Also there clothes come in taller sizes as well stockings and hold ups a blessing :D

if its any help I found some size 10 (uk) pink baseball boots in soccersports in leeds recently! I snapped up a couple of pairs and some light blue ones too!
life in black court shoes although appealing might eventually have its limitations if you want to excerecise or run withthe dog!!
if your a size ten that can be a bit of a problem!
maybe a bit of a gap in the market??

can you also be on the lookout for where size 11's are sold because some of us are just a little bit bigger than a 10. I would be grateful as the only place I know that sells size 11 female shoes is near leeds. otherwise I have to be on the lookout for unisex mens shoes.

Can I reccomend Lush Shoes in Bedminster,Bristol.
Their website is www.lushshoes.co.uk and they routinely go to U.K 11 with some styles up to 13 or 14. They are also very TG friendly although really a shop for women with big feet.
Also www.thetalllady.co.uk , beautiful high quality shoes , unfortunately at an appropriate price.
Hope this helps,
Melissa

Nicola, I should probably also have said that Lush are very helpful to all T girls.
We have a link to their website on a local support group I belong to called Gloscats and they do good business with the girls in Gloucestershire and Bristol area.
It's also worth saying that they have far more stock than goes on their website ; and it is well worth phoning them if you have seen something you liked and asking them about alternatives they may have in stock already but not yet put on their website or whether they can get you something in a particular style/size from their suppliers.
Hope this helps,
Melissa

Thank you Melissa for your help.
I have been looking on the internet myself and have found the following sites.
They all sell shoes up to at least size 11 but not all styles on some sites are in larger sizes. Some sites are also better than others.

Nicola, I think we should get Lynda to copy all of these shoe sites into the Suppliers link on the Home page
As long as the links stay here as well so that I know where to find them ! :)

So Miss Petra of Gwynway,
After my Starbucks coffee fortification last Friday-eve, I felt like some shopping was in order. So I go into my fav Hollywood shoe shop and sit down on a bench to scan shoeboxes for those special rare sizes of heels. Immediately this assistant comes up and sits down beside me, saying
“Hi I’m Suzie and Welcome to our store Off Broadway”.
She goes on to remark, “Your shoe problems are 100% my concern – I am here to assist you. So what’s your size and what are you looking for, honey”?
So I offer in my very quiet little mousey voice, “I’m a size 12, and as wide as possible”.
Well what dya think next? This bitch assistant jumps up, flips her lapel mike, broadcasts across store “Code blue, code blue! Sasquatch, aisle four, we need assistance!”
Darn (giggle), there went my serenity and privacy in a heartbeat!
Ina
Seriously there are many sources of larger shoe sizes on web. I bought recently from site 'Pierre Silber Shoes'. This one tends towards higher sexy heels and boots and I got first one for 30usd and 2nd pair for free.

We don't get that level of service here (and we're not used to it either). The best we get is "can I help you" or " May I be of assistance" and if we're lucky a TG friendly assistant.
Well what dya think next? This b***h assistant jumps up, flips her lapel mike, broadcasts across store “Code blue, code blue! Sasquatch, aisle four, we need assistance!”

Was her shouting that over the pa a good thing or a bad thing, yes you were embarassed but would she have done that anyway or did she do that deliberatly because it was you and the shoes you wanted?
And did you get your shoes or did you walk out feeling embarassed and without a pair of shoes?
PS The administrators and moderators frown upon swearing on this forum. If you do use swear words hide them as I did when I quoted from you (see above).

Just for info Nicola, Bitch is not a swear word it is a description (smiles up sleeve)
Sorry but i thought (and still do) that it was a swear word.
And I thought that you and Lynda frowned upon swearing here.
If I am wrong and we can swear all we like (even though i wouldn't) please correct me.

Try DUO boots they do boots (http://www.duoboots.com/products/boots/)and shoes (http://www.duoboots.com/products/shoes/)in width fittings and i am pretty sure they go up to a 10. Have a look at www.duoboots.com (http://www.duoboots.com)?
