BARMAIDS have demanded gender ID badges to stop punters mistaking them for LADY BOYS.
Emblazoned with the words "I am 100 per cent female" the large circular badges will make it clear exactly who is part of the all-male Thai cabaret show, the Lady Boys of Bangkok.
Staff at the Hippodrome Circus Club in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, threatened to walk out unless they received the badges before the performance on May 27 and 28.
Barwoman Ruth Patterson, 30, said when the show opened in Brighton confused punters repeatedly asked the female staff if they were women.
She said: The lady boys may be very, very attractive but I dont want people to confuse me for one of them.
I certainly dont want people in Yarmouth asking me if Im a lady boy - although I am jealous of their fabulous figures.
Hippodrome owner Peter Jay, 60, said he was glad the gender rebellion had been dealt with.
He said: You could say it has been a storm in a D cup but it has all blown over now.
